Title: I broke in my new shotgun this morning.

The forcast was for rain today so I decided to sit in my chairblind next to a field where some hens have been hanging out. At 7:30 a hen came in and beat the heck out of my DSD hen. She finally got tired of kicking the heck out of it and left. About 9:00 ,I got a bird to gobble behind me, but it started raining hard and he never showed up. At 9:45 , I saw 2 birds walking on the side of the hill about 150 yrds away. I yelped and one stood there looking for almost 5 min and then decided to walk toward me. Low and behold, it was another hen and she walked right past my DSD jake and straight to the hen. Another butt whipping was in progress. The other bird started walking down the hill too and I noticed that it was a longbeard. He never dropped into strut and when he got within 45 yrds he stopped and I threw him a load of Nitro's.
My shotgun is a Benelli SuperNova with the Eotech scope and a Hevi Shot choke.
It had a 9" beard , 1 1/8" spurs and weighed 18 1/2 lbs.
The bird is soaking wet and didn't make great pic's, but with some brown gravy and rice , its going to taste real good.

Nice bird i was also in the rain this moring but it didnt go to well for me.  CONGRATS!!!!
