I work with a couple people at my work, one especially that is constantly late. He is 10-15 minutes late every day. We have no time clock, its an honor system. I finally started leaving on time, calling our answering service and putting him on duty with our boss as back up. This has helped. So, my wife is the late arrival to work and I have no grounds to stand on with her about this. How does everyone do at work. Are you the one on time or ten-fifteen minutes early like me, or do you stroll in at the final moment. AL
I can't give you any ideas to work with
I'v punch a clock for over 40 years .....
I'm on time. Don't punch a clock either. I'm not afraid to take days or even a week off at the drop of a hat(hunting season) if everything can run without me.. :funnyturkey: if someone was consistently late they wouldn't last long working with me..
I'm retired now. But when I did work I was always about an hour early. I could usually get more done during that quiet hour than I could in about 4 hours of regular business hours.
Late to work is stealing time. I'm never late unless I have something to do such as get in a quick morn hunt. I approve it w the boss.
It'd be nice if 10-15mins late was all the guys were. I just start when I get to the job and go home after my time is up.
Being late is straight up lazy and shows disrespect for the boss and your fellow employees that count on you.
I work construction so no clock either. I'd fire someone for being chronically late.
I vary sometimes. Sometimes I'm 15 minutes early, sometimes I'm 10 minutes late. I have a clear conscience though as I stay 30 minutes to an hour longer than everyone else and I don't take as long of lunches as most of the people in my office.
On time unless it's not feasible which is rare

I'm always early, and usually leave late. I'd never allow an employee to be consistently late.

I arrive an hour early--every day for 30 years. I'm the last to leave about 50% of the time. My recommendation is to just do your thing and don't worry about others. Remember--" The cream always rises to the top".
On time during turkey season. About 30 minutes early everyday during the rest of the year, I like having the coffee ready when my co-workers arrive~! :icon_thumright:
If you're not early....you're late!
I'm 30 minutes early every morning. My co worker is 5 to 10 minutes late consistently. Drives me and the others nuts.

Yep I'm like Bowguy on this. Can't tolerate it. Like said, it's stealing time.
If you are early then you are on time
If you are on time then you are late
And if you are late, don't bother to show up !!!!!
That was taught to my daughter by her fast pitch high school softball coach. It paid off later in life as she is always on time for work, appointments and church !!!
It probably helped too that her old man dad is always early and NEVER late.
I worked for the govt. and was never late unless there were traffic emergencies. That is not the normal, most arrive on time and then run to the cafeteria for breakfast. Upon returning esp. on Mondays they had to discuss the Redskin's game for the next half hour. Usually the early arrivals where in a position of responsibility for the office and they leave early. I worked in one of the top offices at my agency and the chief was always early and didn't leave until well after normal hours. Don't let me get started on smoke breaks occurring every half hour.
I am the owner of my own practice... I show up before the first patient is ready, and am generally the last to leave...
My wife is the queen of late... At her previous job, she basically made herself indispensible, and let her boss know they could either let her show up late, or let her go... They kept her.
Generally I like to be on time... Yesterday we were the last to show up at a family party, and I mentioned this, and she said "what can we do???" I said "we could leave earlier..."
When meeting people, I am generally on time or a few seconds early... I have a friend who says "if you are not five minutes early, you are late..."
I'm there when they pay me to be there and I'm out of there as soon as they're no longer paying me. Simple.
I am usually 30ish minutes early but since season opened i have been an hour late but thats because the boss also hunts and we hunt every morning.
Always early. Just made it a habit
I'm always 30-45mins early
My start time is 6:30, most days I'm there on time, never early. Sometimes I'm 15-20 minutes late, but I'm not on a crew, I work independently, and my supervisor strolls in at 8:30-9:00 every morning. I offer no apologies, I'm paid salary, not hourly, and I've often worked late or taken work home to meet a deadline. Traffic is ridiculous where I live, I used to stress years ago about getting in a few minutes early, but these days I'm not getting an ulcer over it or risking an accident or traffic ticket. :emoticon-cartoon-012:
20 to 30 minutes early every day!
25- 30 minutes early. Worry about yourself everything else will work itself out in time.
At least that's been my experience in 25 years of the factory life.

always 20-30 minutes early everyday
People that are constantly late wouldn't make it in my business the boss will be writing you up then comes suspension not to mention the previous shift is waiting on them for relief so angry co workers to boot. I my self hate to be late I can count on 2 fingers how many times its happened in 20 years once a wreck once downed power line
I'm usually late but I leave early to make up for it...:-)
Retired now so it is a mute point with me. When I did work, I normally was 15 minutes early everyday unless there was a traffic accident. When I was a production supervisor, if I had an employee that was always late, he or she would be docked pay to see if that would solve the issue and finally let go if they didn't comply. Normally removal of pay took care of the issue.
I was raised in a house where it was better to be an hour early than a minute late. My wife, on the other hand, never shows up anywhere on time. It is not a good mix.
I own a business, so I start most mornings well before anyone else and I'm always the last one in the office. I'm glad I don't keep track of hours or I'd realize how little I was actually working for.

My boss owns his own very busy practice and shows up 15 minutes late. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Rooms stacked full of patients, waiting room full. And then runs to catch up the entire morning, and normally has to work through lunch and is often the last to leave. Doesn't make sense to me, in fact it gives me anxiety thinking about it. Oh well, different strokes I suppose.
