Looking at getting a short and long box from him. What wood combos would you recommend?

For the longbox get bloodwood over butternut.

The longbox is no question imo bloodwood/mineral poplar. That's one awesome call!! I like it better than my bloodwood/butternut but that one is good too.

Can't go wrong with either of these. I played a bunch of his bloodwood/poplar at the convention and they were awesome.  I think McKamey said his favorite combo is bloodwood/poplar.

I bought a Kwlia/Butternut long box from him that is my favorite call.  I would get in contact and discuss it with him.  But I agree anything from him will sound great!

I have, have had, 8 or 10 of his short boxes.  My favorites are mora over mineral poplar, and persimmon over black limba.

Yea if you are undecided, just call him.

Super nice and always a joy to talk too. Tell him what you want in the call and he will advise you on the wood combo that will work best. He will also let you return the call if you aren't pleased with it, but you won't have to worry about that!

I have a couple of his calls and like them both but the one sided call is the best one sider I've ever used.  It's one of my favorites.
