This morning me and dad was set up well before daylight. We heard more birds around us this morning than anywhere else this year and several gobbled almost all morning. There wasn't anything close but I called every little while hoping to draw something in. A little after 8 I heard 1 gobble close but couldn't tell from where. About 815 I looked out the back of the blind and seen 2 toms strutting behind the blind, I noticed they had 1 hen with them and she was coming down the ridge towards us. I was watching them strutt closer and closer until the finally got beside the blind about 5 yards away allowing me to let the back window back down without them seeing it. They was almost to the decoys and both had there back towards us so I drew my bow back and dad got his gun up. I was debating on shooting him in the body or neck and he turned around where I could see his neck good so I settled the pin low on his neck and shot. Soon as I shoot my dad shoots and misses but quickly rolls him with a second shot, it was about 820 when we shot. Mine was 20 pound 5 ounces, had a 10 in beard and 1 in spurs. Dad's was 16 pound 10 ounces, had a 10 5/8 in beard and 1 1/8 in spurs. This is the first year I ever tagged out with my bow and while it was a bitter sweet feeling to be tagged out I knew we have had a blessed season. Connor tagged out with me early this year killing and killed his best bird the sun in youth season, dad killed his first one last week, I killed 1 with my bow sun and me and dad filled our last tag this morning. When we made it back to the truck the was 1 gobbling his head off on the next ridge over.
