Title: New pet at turkey camp
Post by: Flydown on April 21, 2011, 09:05:44 PM
Hardcore and I were eating a snack after hunting yesterday and this little fella just came up to check us out. I have never seen one in Bama, I didn't even know we had weasel's here. Here is a short video of the little fella. ;D

Not nearly as "lame" as driving the truck to your bird instead of using your tote to carry him out.   ::)

Always heard that the Virgina state police were sissy's.  :TooFunny: :TooFunny:

WOW!!!!

That's killer!!!  Thanks for the video. I was thinking to myself  " yeah, right, a weasel. I'm gonna click on the link and see a large dwarf rat."

I've never seen one. Seen tacks when trapping a looooooooooong time ago, but that's it.

I'd rather see a "new to me" creature, than shooting a turkey.

Just goes to show us we can still see and experience new things in the woods!!

Thanks for sharing!!

God Bless,
David B.

That is a great video. He sure is a cute little varmint..Weasels are fairly common up here, although you don't see them much. Way cool.. :icon_thumright:  Mike

Come to think of it, I did see a whole gaggle of them at a Hotel that I stayed at. It was a Lawyers Convention. It was hard to distinguish the weasels from the vultures, though.. :you_rock:

Bad comparing the weasel to the convention crowd, weasels have some class right? Nice capture enjoyed it, thanks.

I believe that the young lawyers are called weasels and the older lawyers are classified as vultures.

Those things are so cool!  I've only seen 1 around here years ago but trappers say they are fairly common.

We have weasels everywhere here in MN. There fairly tame and like the leftover bits of steak we give them at deer camp. I've seen them chase mice a time or two. They are wicked quick creatures. It's quite the show.

Cool video. We used to watch them in the morning at Lake of the Woods. They would run down the docks and open every minnow bucket tied to the docks. Jump in and eat all the minnows and move to the next one. I loved watching them and then seeing the guys come out to their boats in the morning and checking their minnows before heading out. They would always just look at the bucket and have that lost look on their face. Great fun there.
