Title: A stubborn bird
Post by: J.Davidson on April 21, 2011, 08:42:13 PM
I need some help guys i was on a bird all last weekend i know where he roost but cant get to him because of property boundaries but he is only roosting about 100 yards if that away. Ive tried setting up and calling to him but the only time he gobbled was when i give him a fly down cackle, is he henned up or do i just need to be more aggressive with my calling?

He is probably settin on the limb waiting on you to come to him.Give him some soft yelps and clucks. Just enough to him know YOU are there and hush for about half an hour and do just a little more if he doesn't come in. If nothing else would work I would try a gobble call and see if I could make him jelous. Good Luck with him.
