Thank you all for the kind replies between work our small farm and having a three year old I don't get much time to hunt. I had been watching this bird for weeks and Friday night my wife and I were grilling outside and heard him fly up the night and gobble a few times. Her loving the fine meat of a wild turkey said go in the morning and try to get him. Got set up Saturday morning and he didn't say a word I was worried I had spooked him walking in as I had an idea of what tree he was in but didn't know for sure. Then it happened heard the beating of wings and as soon as he hit the ground he gobbled I answered on my crystal mistress softly and he cut me off so I shut up and got on the gun after an hour I was wondering where he was so yelped at him again on a she devil mouth call and could hear him drumming he rounded the corner at 31 steps and I let him have it. After getting to him and checking him out I walked up the logging trail a few yards and saw strut marks in the ground he had been strutting there for the hour I had waited. Lesson learned was sometimes be quiet and having patience pays off
