Hope members enjoy this poem I thought up this morning. Although it is fictional, I have seen a few Spring Turkey Hu nters that made it to a parking area-- only to fall asleep. Here it is.
I arrived first at the Public Land--
I could not believe it and thought-out DAMN!
I knew other Turkey Hunters would be here soon.--
Full of vigor like a werewolf out on a Full Moon.
That Gobbler, I scouted liked a corner of a popular Field.-
Later if I saw another Hunter, I would blink my flashlight and hopefully he would yield.
As, I thought about this, I soon went to sleep.--
Bright and Sunny, I woke up with Trucks parked around me like a Heap!
Someone left an empty paper coffee cup on my hood.--
A shot was soon heard from the direction of my Favorite Field when I finally Stood.

This morning, I had plans to do some scouting. Got all dressed in camo and had coffee and ended up calling asleep. Turned cold here in New York after our first 70 degree day on Sat. Maybe that is why I was tired?? Sleet later on and through the upcoming night. Weird Weather!!
