Preparing for another New Mexico hunt this year and want to be ready for the wind with the loudest box call I can get my hands on. What do you suggest?
Boat paddle, no particular brand. or a Halloran would be my first choice for one, met him in Nebraska last season and he was just a good dude, and that cat can run a box call!!! Dang.
A good long box.

A good long box.
X2 , Billy Bush, S.S, Halloran would be my first to choices if I were buying one for my self. But my buddy has one that i use made by Billy Bush "the begging box"
My David Halloran has served me well in Texas and Oklahoma. It has been the start of the demise of many longbeards.
Love my long box

Like the other guys said most of the long box (boat paddle) calls are super loud. I've got one I bought as a kit that had to be sanded a lot and finished. Its a poplar/walnut and it rings my ears on a yelp.
Like most have said.......................hard to beat a good paddle caller.
BUT................. The FoxPro Crooked Spur Rude Snood is probably the single loudest boxcall I've ever run. NASTY loud !!!!
I have a river otter my Madd i believe. It has done me well in west tx. Hurts my ears when i get on it lol
