I'm shooting a Winchester Super X2 with 3.5 inch Longbeard #6's and a Wrights #1 choke. I sighted in at 15 yards and it is a very tight pattern but dead on. At 40 yards it is the most outstanding pattern I have ever seen (over 50 pellets in the kill zone) but it is just slightly higher that it feels like it should be. Is it odd to pattern dead on so close but have the center of the pattern slightly high at 40?
Thanks!
did you shoot more than 1 shot at 40 to make sure it wasnt a fluke ? if so i'd bring it down a little untill your comfortable .
Define 'slightly'.
50 hits in the head neck oughta be plenty...
I have a friend that shoots a new A5 and at 15 yards it's dead on. At 40 yards it's 10" low.
Your scope is higher than your barrel so at close range you should be a little low, with a 40 yard max range you might want to set your sight at 20-25
