Title: First Hunt, First Bird!! Learn to Hunt Turkey WI

I was mentoring this weekend for our local WI Learn to Hunt Turkey Program, I host the calling portion of our classroom time and had my neighbors son out with me on their home farm. Jake had a "tough" lesson on Saturday... I called in 2 toms and he shot and missed, we were back out on Sunday and called what would seem to have been the same 2 toms and he put the hammer down on him today and Killed him at 14 yards!!

(Little "chilly" here in the morning at 11°)

Job well done on getting the lad onto a nice gobbler!!  Good to see he shook off the miss and was able to connect on day two for some revenge!!

 :happy0064:  That's awesome!  It sounds like a LOT youth hunters were bundled up good last weekend.  It was colder than deer season.

He learned a great lesson on this hunt. Persistance, turkey hunting is not a give me. I am sure he learned many other lessons as well. Congrats on a job well done.
