That's a big one :you_rock:
Nice ! I'm so mad . I have a spot I go to every year and find hundreds , I just haven't had time yet and a friend of mine took a bunch of his buddys in there and cleaned me out.. they picked over 800 makes me sick.
Our weather hasn't been good for the morels yet, but hopefully next week I can score some for a meal.
It is about over here in Tn. I had about 1 hour of daylight left and rushed over to a spot that has been producing late. They were up everywhere. I could have picked a half pound just on the dead ones and broken pieces.
It was a good year! We get very few of the huge cream colored morels but sometimes the numbers make up for it.

What part of Southern Indiana were you in?
We found 195 the other day, but 170 of them came from the last place we tried. First time there too...

I would think the very end of April and just about anytime in May at your lattitude. 2 years ago I found edible yellows in the first week of June in N. MI.
Here was our haul. :z-guntootsmiley:

Nice hatful!
Man, I wish we had those things in the south
Well I finally got out today and tried a new spot and man I hit the jackpot . Me and a friend pick close to 400 a piece , I tell ya I have never seen so many in my life. We were only in the woods for about 2 hours and quit picking because it got dark on us. Heading back tomorrow for more. Gonna fill the freezer .. post some pic's soon as I up load them.
There finding bunches in the Bedford area, might be the best year in I can remember in my lifetime.
I never saw any but I don't look either ;D
A buddy and I picked 32lbs in the last two days here. Going to hit again tomorrow and Saturday.
