I have looked everywhere, called all over and these seem to be the only #7 I can find up here, how many of you have shot this 2 3/4 20 gauge shell?...I have to order and have them shipped so I would like some 1st hand advice before I spend the money. Will these be a solid 40 yard shell?.I will be running them through an 870 with a .575 carlson or .570 tightwad choke..Thanks for all the info.

I shot them through my 20 ga turkey thug with an SSX, and got 94 in the 10 at 30 yards.
The temps were in the mid to upper 40's, so I might have gotten more pellets in the 10, with warmer temperatures, but it would be a stretch to shoot them much past 30 yards.
I wouldn't try to stretch them to 40. I think that would be a mistake.
Thanks.I ordered some longbeard #6's instead to test as I have local access to the longbeard #5's and they have patterned the best so far,I have a few boxes of mag blends on the way and a few of the longbeard #6's to test next weekend.
Have you tried getting #7 hevishot shells? Those usually aren't to hard to find.
They are impossible to find up here, most hevi shot is,most don't stock anything but cheap lead shells from the 1980's.I am done begging and looking around for decent 20 gauge ammo up here.It is rather sickening and frustrating to listen to their excuses, the best is when they say.why not just shot a 12 gauge.I am so sick of the shops around, and trying to find heavyweight #7"s or any hevi shot shell in either 12 gauge or 20 gauge.
I don't know how many times I've posted this , but if you can get the heavyweight 6s to pattern and you SHOULD, Rogers has them in stock. Chase numbers all you want, but if you can get 110+ in the 10" at 40 with them they will straight DESTROY a turkey! ALL my 20s will do it and when I run out of the 7s I won't hesitate for a second to throw one in the pipe.
i am in ontario and the only thing i chase is longbeards............like i said.....ammo options are very limited for 20 gauge.

X2... I use the hw #6's when I can't get the 7's. The pattern is still very good and those 6 hw's hit like bowling balls!
If I could find the Federal heavyweight #6's....I would buy them, they are not available anywhere that I can find in ontario.I have looked, called and asked around. They are like winning the lottery.

The words "I am in Ontario " are far more descriptive than "up here". How was anyone supposed to know where you live if you don't say so? Lol. Might be wrong, but even in Canada, you should STILL be able to order ammo, just going to have to pay...more to get it. The longbeards and the magblends you posted about too should do well if you can't get your hands on the hws...
I think I will be ok with what I have located. It really is a shame that the selection is as pathetic as it seems to be, they just legalized #7 last year and it still is like winning the lottery trying to find it.I now will concentrate on the next choke I want to try out.
