Title: Target stakes
Post by: Life of Riley on March 27, 2018, 10:29:35 AM
I'm going to pattern my gun at a range. I've been there before and needless to say some of the stakes are in poor shape. What should I bring with, i.e. some kind of metal frame and cardboard with tape or staples? Thanks for any suggestions.

I made a lightweight portable stand out of pvc pipe. It's a square about 4x4 with t's at bottom of the square to put pvc legs shaped like t's into, so its free standing and easy to disassemble. I just tape sheets of cardboard to the square frame. It has  held up fine for many years now with no damage from any shot so far including hevi 4's.My nephew managed to hit it with a 9mm he was shooting and broke a piece, but it was a 10 minute fix, just replace the damaged pipe with a new one. The pipe is just slipped together, not glued, and held tight with duct tape, so it's easy to break down to fix if needed.
