Thought it would be fun for everyone to voice their opinion on the most underrated striker, material wise. Everyone always wants dymondwood, purple heart, and snake wood, but there are a bunch of others that are fantastic that don't get the attention they deserve. I'll start....
Yellow Heart and on a lesser note good ol hickory

An old plexiglass striker from the early 90s is my 'go to' on slate during those damp hunting conditions.
osage and maple
Ipe - All Around
Cedar - Soft Talking
I have a striker made of Pecan that is phenomenal.
I got a cocobolo striker from Chad Gunzenhauser a few years ago and for me, there isn't a close 2nd.

I have several strikers that are pretty popular that I use but one of my favorite that's not mentioned a whole lot is Persimmon, it's always with me.

Pecan is in the same genus as the rest of the hickories do that comes as no surprise.

I have a couple of Kwila strikers that sound great on all surfaces.
Yellowheart is no slouch on most surfaces.

I have made several Chakte Viga and wouldn't be without one. I also like Yellowheart and Hickory.
Got a halloran hickory this year that is nasty on his zebrawood green slate and the CM. I'm also really really loving the Macassar ebony from Stuckey! Sounds great on anything. Looking forward to trying the ebony on my halloran ceramic tomorrow.

I got a Lyman second hand it is a good striker but I don't like it as well as Osage and bloodwood
Matt Mclain Black Locust sounds great and very forgiving on any surface.

Chakte viga for sure, jatoba and Chechen
My vote would go for tulipwood. I have a Stuckey Tulipwood that im confident would run any pot call or any surface out there. I never go to the woods without it no matter what call in carrying.
Yellowheart
Persimmon
Jatoba
Mac ebony
I haven't found a Purple Heart or snakewood striker I like yet,I've tried my share of them

I have a persimmon from Wendell Rye (Lights Out) that sounds great on anything I put it to.
Macassar Ebony, 2pc Halloran
Persimmon, Lights Out
Primos Lucky Striker(Laminate 1pc)
2nd the Stuckey Tulipwood
Tulip wood is a good one, bloodwood another
Black Locust. I use it a lot in my 3-piece strikers.

Ramin and tulip poplar for soft calling. Chechen is one I've stumbled upon recently that is a very versatile medium hard wood.
The most underrated striker is any quality two-piece striker. I have several that sound better than some of the more high dollar one-piece strikers I've owned. I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to being a one-piece snob but I'm running a Halloran two-piece Dymondwood on an OG Metal Mouth cause it just sounds best with that call. So, no more snobbing for me. I'll hunt what sounds best, not what looks best. I have a PIIIILLLE of two-piece strikers to go through now...lol
That's the truth. My favorite striker is a halloran 2 piece ebony. The new 2 piece diamondwood striker from dustin jones are mighty fine also.

I have a Stuckey holly striker that I really like for soft calling on a slate. I have a Lyman tulipwood coming. Can't wait to run that.

Butternut, great for soft talking.
The Fowler Brazillion Ebony runs very well on glass and aluminum.
Fowler Alaskan yellow cedar
Fowler yellowheart
Fowler ipe
for an under rated wood i would have say canary wood use see good many of them but not any longer
stuckey black and white ebony, and masacar ebony.....sounds good on almost everything
Old poplar crosscut works on everything but a wet rock

One of the most underrated woods for strikers is Sycamore.
Black walnut. Runs everything well with less rasp than tulipwood.

Katalox is one of my favorites....very close in density and hardness to snakewood.
It almost like a snakewood with a little more grip.
Granadillo
I've used a lot of different woods, and other materials. Like acrylic and plexiglass, but right now I'm using mostly hickory, zebrawood, and cherry.
A carbon tipped striker sounds great on just about any surface. I can call loud or soft with mine and it sounds great. I've used it with glass, aluminum, copper, slate and ceramic.
Its not wood, but I live making strikers with deer antler. You have to make sure the antler isn't super porous though. It works really well on slate and glass/crystal.

Bubinga
Honduran Rosewood
Katalox
Morado
Marblewood
Persimmon
Mohogany
all with mushroom tips
Black Locust and Pecan
Rosewood Striker and Hippo Ivory tipped walnut Striker
Underrated, monkeywood.

I agree with that. Throw butternut in with it for soft tree calling.
Oak is another very under rated striker wood.
