Got my 2 birds on opening morning. Had about 30 hens and a strutter come right to the decoys. The 28 gauge rolled him over at 25 steps. He had a 10 1/4" beard and 1 3/8" spurs. Hung him up in a mesquite and moved down the road to a new set up. Called in 2 lone gobblers and rolled another one at 32 yards. He had a 9 3/4" beard and 1" spurs. It was a great opening morning hearing 30 plus gobblers on the roost. Now back in Arkansas waiting for the season to start and hoping to at least hear one.
