Title: Report from up north "WI"
Post by: MK M GOBL on March 17, 2018, 04:38:28 PM
Well been seeing the birds starting to break up off the farm, was doing a little shed hunting running a few fence crossings and seen 5 toms out with a dozen or so hens, they were do the dance for the ladies. Still have a month to regular season opening but gets you fired up for it. Still expecting to see more winter breakup going on but getting there!

Friend texted me this morning about seeing first strutter.
Still a month away here in southern Indiana.

I saw 3 strutters this morning and watched one chase off a Jake and then mount a hen. And, it's still winter along the UP border.

All I see in northern WISCONSIN is 17" of snow left on the ground.
Huge flocks still hanging together, near Hayward.
