Title: Indian Creek and Federal Flex wad
Post by: ThunderChickenGetter on March 12, 2018, 09:49:42 AM
I know that Indan creek recommends not shooting the flight control was through their chokes, but what about the flight control flex was that their tss shells have? Is it any different than the original flight control wad?

From what i understand you can shoot this thru ported or non-ported now with no problems ...

They changed wad design for the TSS but I shot the Federal TSS out of Indian creek and rhino chokes and the rhino put triple the pellets in 10 inch circle.

I shot almost 2 boxes of the Federal TSS 3.5" 12G #9's out of my SBEII trying to get a pattern i was happy with. I tried the primos jellyhead .660, kicks .665, Trulock TSS .640, Trulock TSS .650, and an Indian Creek .665. The Indian Creek outperformed them all. I'm not happy with the pattern yet because others are stating they are getting 400+ pellets in a 10" ring at 40yds. The best i got was around 350 pellets. I would like to try a .670 or .675 to see if it gets any better, but i'm gonna stick with the Indian Creek .665 for this season until i start handloading some of my own, then i'll tinker with it some more.

I heard from the Indian Creek dudes that the new wad was designed with their chokes in mind.

I got the IC .675.  I've only shot it once but got 330 in 10, and another 310 in the 10-20 inch.  But that's out of an 870 - 21 inch barrel.  I like the even pattern and ~50/50 split between 10 and 20.  No reason for trying to get higher numbers in the 10.

A guy sponsored by Federal, Shane Simpson, said when he tested the TSS shells Indian Creeks chokes were either the best or right up there with the best.

I called Indian Creek and ordered a .562 for my 870. Always had good luck with IC chokes in my 12 gauges
