Title: South Florida Turkeys
Post by: FHPTrooper on March 01, 2018, 08:02:14 PM
Hi guys, I'm a state trooper down in South Florida(Homestead area) and I'm looking at trying to hunt a couple days on some public land to take my first Osceola. I'm not too far from Big Cypress, but I also don't have a 4wheeler to get around all the swamp land out there. I'm not against traveling a little ways for better areas if someone can recommend another place that's not as wet. I'm not looking for honey holes, just a point in the right direction as I can't get off work numerous days to scout and can only hunt till 1pm out there. Any help is greatly appreciated! Feel free to pm me if necessary.

You can put in for quota permit redraws to WMAs in your area on FWCs licensing website.

I finally picked a redraw up this year but at a WMA that has been going downhill.

I hope to turn in my quota permit to save points for a better draw next year, but I'd need to bag a Turkey by next weekend so it can hit the redraws.
