could anybody give me a clue on what type of footwear is the quietest for spring turkey

Moccasins, bare feet would be the quietest but I use Cabelas Pinnacle uninsulated boots.  I think they are pretty quiet.

LL Bean boots have worked well for me.

I usually cover a lot of ground "runnin' and gunnin" so I like a light boot such as the Cabela's Bowhunter or a rubber bottom/leather top boot like LL Bean. I don't care for aggressive soles that pick up a lot of mud and that tend to be noisier while stalking.
