Anyone ever have any problems with Remington factory followers and roll crimped shells? noticed that the protrusion of the factory follower fits into the recess of my roll crimped shells? Have noticed a slight issue with my 20 gauge 11-87 feeding from mag but it could be just a new gun needing broke in?
Thanks

I hadn't till you posted this. Mine loaded appears to protrude into the shell as well. Never had an issue with my 20.wish I hadn't looked.
I'm sure you could ease the protruding portion down a bit with a file without comprising structural integrity. ..
Went ahead and ordered a GGangG follower (think that's the name brand) off ebay just to eliminate and perceived issue. Don't know if it will help but I am sure it wont hurt.

Since the gun holds 5 shells why not just put a regular star crimped load in first and then load 3 roll crimped shells. Then the roll crimped shell would never touch the follower.
I took the follower out of my 870 SM last night to look at it better. The follower only goes into the Federal and Apex TSS shells a little, maybe 1/16th of inch. I even tried to force it into the end of shell and it wouldn't go, so at least it appears on mine like it shouldn't be a problem. Mine has the orange plastic follower; not sure if that is standard or not.

Many states limit mag capacity to two.

Which states? I can understand 3 as it is similar to the migratory bird regs but why 2?

That's 3 total, 1 in the pipe, 2 in the mag. PA is that way.
