Found this today while shed hunting. Solid metal with 3 holes in it. It's about the size of a baseball or a little bigger. I found it at the base of a big ridge in a natural spring creek drainage close to where a 1800s military road went through. Have any of y'all seen anything like this before?
No clue just a guess since it was in a spring at a roadside it maybe a pipe fitting. Looks like inner and outter lips. I maybe way off it's just a in the dark. I'd go post on treasure net metal detecting site. Those boys know their antiques

Hub band around a wagon wheel? Should be perfectly round for that, but maybe that is why it got left behind. Maybe an artillery wheel?
Leg band for a Bigfoot. Call your DNR.
