Probably more to do with my calling than the call itself. I'm not competition grade by any means.

This is a generic assessment of the call and calling,...that is, if I heard the sound file without any knowledge of who the caller was, this is what I would say. (in other words, this is not meant to be critical of either you or the call, just an unbiased opinion).
First off, the good: the call can obviously make turkey sounds and the caller knows the "basics" in terms of call function, rhythm, and mechanics. Assuming the caller knows when to apply the various sounds in a turkey hunting setting, the call and caller could no doubt call gobblers.
The improvements: practice and experimentation will make perfect, but the ability to understand the "nuances" of turkey calling often takes nothing more than a lot of time in the woods calling turkeys and seeing how they respond to varying calling techniques. Having spent over five decades doing that, and while watching many different hunters call to turkeys, here is the one consistently key element of importance (all else being equal): THE BACK-END OF THE YELP.
Turkeys key-in on the lower, back-end of a yelp more than any other single element in calling. In my opinion, a hunter that puts the right tone, rasp, emphasis, and inflection on the back end of their yelping will consistently call turkeys, and more of them.
So, coming back to the call and the sound file, IMO, that call will make the sound you need to make. You just need to focus in on the yelps and get the right inflection where it is needed. My :z-twocents: from watching the results in the field where it matters.

I think my 20.00 flextime slate sounds about like that call with this right striker, I still want to play one though on my own. I am a rookie but want a call that fits my hand good and runs smooth and sounds Turkey to me.
Sound differs depending on ear.
I have recorded me calling on calls that sounded terrible to
Me but sounded awesome to more experienced turkey hunters. Also I have played a call that sounded terrible while I was playing it but once I replayed the recording sounded amazing. Kind of weird.
It really all depends on what the bird wants to hear and playing at the right time and giving him what he wants to hear which is what I'm trying to learn.

A friend of mine is big into the Cody calls, they sound very nice but right now are out of my price range. (Darn van repair bills) Sounded good by the way.
