Title: OG Patches
Post by: Coop1082 on February 08, 2018, 03:18:07 PM
Have any of you fellas actually put the patch on a vest? Want to put this years on my vest but wasn't too sure how the heat adhesion would do on the thinner "ripstop" material a lot of vests use now. I'm sure I could always have it sewn on but I just wanted to see if anyone had heat pressed it to a vest before. Thanks guys and also to Shannon! The new patch is awesome!

I put two on mine.  They adhered but I felt it wouldn't stay.  So I took my wifes sewing machine and figured it out.  Was pretty simple really, only took maybe an hour.

Yes sir Bailey! I'm about to sew both into my new vest tonight! They are going to have to go on the inside of it because there isn't really any flat areas to work with on the front but I'll shoot you some pics when I finish!

Two things I was force to learn to do by my father. Sew and Weld, everything else was optional. Lol.
The welding is definitely better than the sewing!

I ironed one on a cotton vest, and they held on great. Not sure about the rip-stop material though. My son bought me a new vest awhile ago and it's a rip-stop type of material, so I may just sew them on it.  Not sure where I want to put them on new vest, not a lot of real estate to work with on this one. We should start a thread showing off our gear/items we put our patches on!

I think that thread is a great idea Ward! Never got around to mine last night. My kiddos decided to be wired after bath time so I'll get to it this weekend. I agree with Ward though, if you got your patches sewn or pressed on to anything let's see it!
