Title: Screw torque
Post by: TKE921 on February 07, 2018, 07:16:18 PM
I just got my Affinity back from Sumtoy.  He installed his FFIII mount on it and I also ordered a choke.  I am going to install my FF3 tonight, along with the protector mount from Warbird Calls.  I read in the instruction manual for the picatinny mount to torque the two mounting screws that hold the sight to 12 inch pounds.  Is that enough for a shotgun, or should I go a few more?

Follow the instructions. That is the torque that particular screw is rated for.

I'd say that is plenty, but if I recall correctly most use blue loctite

Says inch pounds not foot pounds.  It's more than you think it is.
