Title: Youth 20 ga
Post by: Chris O on February 04, 2018, 10:59:46 AM
I am toying with the idea of getting myself a 20 ga youth model to hunt with.I am very familiar with Remington but held a weatherby pa-20 and liked the feel of it any pros and cons of either one? Can I buy regular adult stocks to fit the youth models? What chokes does weatherby use? Thanks for the opinions

You are not wingshooting, so the shorter length of pull is not a disadvantage but gives you more range right or left for the cagey gobbler who appears in the wrong spot.

Well I went to Brownells gun shop and decided on the wood youth 870 express. I filled out the paperwork and waited around for a half hour for them to get the gun up to the front the guy said it would be another 15 minutes before he had the paperwork finished so I sat there for another 5 minutes and he came over and said he couldn't sell me the gun because my drivers license had expired a few days ago. I also  had my permit to carry And I am still legal to drive for 30 days after my license expires but they can't sell me the gun. I have also renewed my license online it just hasn't made it to me yet. I feel like if I am still able to drive I should still be able to purchase the gun.The guy asked if I wanted them to hold it for me until I got my license. No thanks I will get it from somewhere else. I realize other stores may have the same policy but I guarantee that was the slowest gun purchase I have ever had.Sorry about the rant

sounds like you speak from experience!! Were you kind of ticked off like me? I know they seem to have some not so necessary policies but I was more mad about spending all that time on it.
