Title: recoil comparison
Post by: JR on April 16, 2011, 02:23:59 PM
How does the recoil of the rem youth 870 compare to rem youth 1187?  I know a knoxx recoil reduction stock could be added to the 870, but i was not sure if the knoxx could be added to the 1187.   :turkey2:

Thanks.  JR

870 will kick a little harder for a couple reasons 1 being its lighter and another is the 1187 is gas operated . I'm not sure how noticeable the difference is though.

I didn't think the knoxx was available in 20 gauge

The 1187 will have a softer recoil due to the gas system -- you could try a slip on limbsaver recoil pad to that 870 , they are available at Walmart for $20

A stock 1187 has less recoil than a stock 870, but not much.  Yes, you can get a knoxx stock for both the 1187 and 870 in 20ga.
