Title: Thermocell Mosquito Reller Field Reports

Another forester said his made a big difference on mosquitos but not on bull gnats. What has been your experience?

Works great on mosquitos and "no see ums" here.. by the 3rd week in the wrong spot you regret not having one..I have left some spots without the thermacell and had blood comin from the top of my ears.

Absolutely love mine, it is the best money I've spent for the turkey woods, want leave home with out it....

It is always clipped onto my vest.  Never enter the woods without it.

Got one for Christmas three years ago and finally tried it out last weekend. Works great!!!

Last weekend I was sitting in a spot doing some blind calling in a creek bottom here in Mississippi. I've got the Thermacell cranked up laying next to my right leg and I was enjoying the orb of protection. After about 2 hours, I realize that the hungry horde was buzzing around my facemask on my left side. I looked at them, picked up the Thermacell and asked them "Don't y'all realize that I have a genuine...EMPTY...Thermacell laying right next to me?" Very dramatic illustration of how effective they are and what happens when they run out of butane.

If someone could come up with an effective replacement pad at a lower cost, they would become a millionaire. And I get residuals for the brainchild!

You tube Refilling butane. Use the old school green mosquito coils, just break off a couple small pieces & slide rite in. Works great & much cheaper.

You can flip the pad over, notice there is still a little blue under the brownish heated surface, and let that side face up to get an extra 30-45min of usage out of one pad. :fire:
