Title: browning maxus front bead
Post by: morgs on April 16, 2011, 09:31:20 AM
I got a set of the tru glo sights for my new maxus ,and it says to take the front bead off and screw the front sight into its place . Is the bead not threaded ? It seems to be just spinning in place and not coming out. Any help or advice would be great !!!!!

If you dont want the bead, i would be fixing to pry it out or use a pair of pliers to pull it out. If that doesnt work, shoot me a PM.

I do believe the bead is screwed in.  What is spinning is either plastic or a ceramic type material that is covering the top of the screw.  I have 2 browning golds that had beads like you speak of and both beads spun freely, but actually are threaded.

Ditto.... I agree with el diablo.  You can buy replacement beads for the Browning guns.  Personally I don't like the beads that come with their guns at all.  When I had a Gold I replaced the front bead with that of a BPS which is shorter than the Gold.

Take your Maxus into a gunsmith. They have a special tool to get that front bead out.
