Hey yall just wondering how things are going with everyone!
Great here, just filled my first season tag with a 21 lb longbeard wednesday morning, now I have to go back to work and work 6 -12 hour days for a bout 2 weeks and might get to hunt a couple of days the last week of april and a day or so the first week of may. I still have 2 more days of vacation left to fish and mushroom hunt.
I set out a few tomato's, peppers and squash, pruned the blackberries and cut some grass. Ky state season opens 16 th. I will be chasing long beards the rest of the week, weather permitting.
I'm sittin here twiddling my thumbs wait for the 27th to get here.. :fire:
Trying to hurry up the weekend, so I can hit the woods for the opener on Monday...... :happy0064: :happy0064: :happy0064: :happy0064: :happy0064:
I'm struggling. It's been one of those years. I've had 5 birds within 60 yards and I haven't killed one of them yet. It is beginning to get frustrating but we have 30 days left and I will be going all out.
I am heading out this Wednesday to start my season, other then that not much. Scoot
It's going good here. Next Saturday is the youth hunt so we have been getting the youngsters out to the range for some much needed practice.
My season starts in two weeks. I just got an order in from Brownells and will be polishing a couple of barrels this weekend.
Good luck to you guys getting out this week.

Not much here. Just leaving to go scouting in about 45 min. Been working with Harrison and his little league team getting them ready for their first game, and lots of yardwork. I have Monday off, so scouting in am, home projects in late morning.
We can't start till Sat the 30th for youth w/e.
It's storming here so no scouting today. I have my shotgun patterned. Just waiting for the season to open.

Now your talking Steve. :icon_thumright:
For us the KY opener was not good. 3 guys hunting 3 different places and good places to boot, not a single bird did we see or hear. I guess the 40's degree temp. rain and 25 to 35 mile winds didn't help. Sunday may be better.
Good luck guys.
hang in ther spurman....better days are coming, The weather did suck today here in the st. louis area too....cold and windy....all I did was lay around and watch some golf, fishin shows and treated myself to some turkey nuggets.....keep after 'em ....GO SPURMANATER
Are you in the thick woods or a more open area Spur? I have 3 friends down there and two took birds and there missed one. Both birds were shot just before 8:00 and both had more then one gobbler come in.

Scott, One hunted fields and woods Private land, one hunted woods only public land and I hunted woods and fields public land. Not that unusual for public birds to be silent. Birds were killed but just not by us.
Will be going for an afternoon hunt today.
Now I'm Getting Desperate.
I just put a store bought turkey pot pie in the microwave. :toothy12:

I know what you mean TalksToTurkeys I'm getting bad myself.
I am still after them but it has been pretty dead so far. They are just not gobbling.
Called in a couple of hens on Wednesday but no Gobblers.
Still got more than three weeks left so I am staying positive.
