Sweet. A gerber gater knife!  Been my lucky charm since I was 13. 23 years of memories in that knife.

I found mine 15 years ago or so on the horse trail on the public I hunt in Fall. My lucky charm too.

				Way to get it done!

				Congrats!

great job. I'm setting here watching a flock of turkeys in my back field drying off from a wet night. My season opens this Saturday. I'd love to find a group of super Jakes or gobblers. I'll leave the birds alone here on the home farm. Fall is when I like to hit areas I don't typically hunt in the spring.

				Congrats!

Looks like you are having a great fall congrat on the to fine animals that will feed you this winter

I was sitting in the outhouse at camp
this morning and heard a flock getting ready
to leave the roost. Sure get's the blood
flowing. Two more weeks before the gobblers
get to make a fool of me.
Regards
Turk

I sure wish our fall season opened on the Saturday before . We had some rain and I probably saw 20 birds out in the open fields.( that was tough not being able to go after them).Good luck today

				Congrats

I killed a super Jake this morning. I'll try and post a picture later

I have only been turkey hunting for 44 years; what is a super jake?

They are 1 1/2 year old gobblers, they were jakes last spring. They usually have a 6-8 beard and weigh around 16-17 lbs, just short of a two year old. We also call them jake and a halfs. I saw someone else on the forum post one as super jake and thought I would do like- wise. My buddy and I have called them jake and a half for years, I guess it's our local terminology, sorry for the confusion.

Congrats on the birds and the venison gents.
