Title: Jellyhead vs Kicks
Post by: stilker on February 10, 2011, 11:49:33 PM
Rem 870.  Jellyhead 665 vs Kicks Gob Thunder 665. Is there much difference?

Also, have any you guys tried the Win Extended Range 6's through a Jellyhead?

Both good chokes. I prefer the JH.  I have gotten some descent patterns from the 665 GT, but the JH was better.  Every gun is different.

I shoot a mossberg 835 and the JH.  My buddy shoots a Rem 870 with a JH and he loves it.

Both are good chokes. You can't go wrong with either.

I have a 835,and use both. They both shoot well. I use Mag Blend with JH 690. and shoot Win HV 3 5's  with the Kicks 680.
Both good chokes. I like JH. it shoots hevi.

You can shoot Hevi with both chokes with no problems.

Some people say you can.  However.......the manufacture says they don't recomend it..

Yeah, but the manufacturer is a very confused individual.  ;D
And he's also in bed with Winchester and their Eatended Range loads!!

i have a .665 JH for my 870 and i was not impressed with it. it gave nice and even patterns but not real good 10" numbers. if your going to get a JH get a .660 its a few bucks more but IMO its well worth it

THE KICKS MAN DOES NOT LIKE THE HEVI SHOOT MAN...that is all I am going to say...but I will also say this....it is a bad relationship between those two guys as far as performance the kicks will shoot anything you put through it.....the ported chokes and FC wads of federal have a bad relationship also but that is just design of how the choke and wad are to work...both have their purpose but not with each other!

I Love the Jellyhead but also like the Kick's Gobblin Thunder choke.

I talked to someone at kicks today and was given the same story. Almost word for word. I explained to him that I had already shot no telling home many hevi loads out of it in the last 6 years and he said to stop doing it.  When I asked about other high density loads he said they were ok just not hevi-13.  He tried to tell me the same stuff about nitro having lead in it and I knew that was BS. He then proceeded to try to convince me that regular win. Supreme lead  would pattern as good as hevi shot. I told him "not out of my gun" and I hung up.

So your saying i can put any Turkey shot through my Kicks Gobblin thunder even though the Company says not to?It wont hurt it?I only use Remington or Winchester but would be willing to try other shot if it can be put through my Kick's Gt Choke.H'n'B'

That'll  never happen.  Kick's chokes are made from the some of the hardest steel available.  You can :OGturkeyhead: look at them and tell that.

I've shot Hevi and Winchester XRHD through both......

Hevi loves the Jellyhead

Winny's love the Kicks GT
