2004 Silverado 1500 5.3 Z71 is leaking coolant AFTER the engine has cooled down and not noticed under pressure while running and not until engine cools down. Seems to be coming down from passenger side as seen in picture up above that black plastic clip. Thought it might have been gaskets for the water pump. New ones installed and still leaking. Weep hole is dry after running and engine still hot. Seems like if it was coming out of that, it would happen while under pressure. Could it be the thermostat gasket? Anyone had this happen with their Silverado?

I have a 04 GMC Sierr@ and it does the same thing and I can't figure it out so I just add more antifreeze every once in awhile lol.
I used this in my '04 Nissan Xterra, and it stopped the coolant leak. Worth trying.

When the engine is shut off it will build up pressure and show the leak. I would have a mechanic shop perform a pressure test of the cooling system. I've had several Silverados and own one as we speak and a couple of them had the dreaded head gasket leak problem.
Had an '08 GMC Acadia do the exact same thing in the same exact spot....heater core leak.
AC?

I used the barsleak in my 99 Z-71, head gasket leaking. Stopped the leak but sometimes it would run hot at idle. Flushed and ok now.

My step dad had the same problem. It was a connector in the heater core hoses. It finally blew an then was very obvious.

LOL! My 04 did that, and I kept topping it off, too.
