The Cackler Box is about 12.5" long overall and it does have a spring on the paddle screw.

Those Alabama Cacklers look like a polycarbonate or something similar.  I have one of the wooden Alabama Cacklers from some years back and have been trying to figure a fair price for it.  Does he still make those?

Not sure but it did cross my mind about contacting him and see if he still offers the wood version of the Alabama Cackler.
