I'm fairly new to turkey hunting and got at it later in life after putting my last GSP down and pausing my chapter in life hunting upland birds.
This Spring I got my 11 year old out and all most closed the deal on his first bird but came up short. I think he is gonna be a good one as he is already critiquing my calling and now trying to use a mouth call. I figured one way to keep him engaged during the off season was to get him a box call of his own so I contacted Al Shoemaker at S&S Custom Calls after reading many of the fine reviews of Al here on the message board and ordered the boy his first call. Al helped me out with the wood choice and most importantly penned an personalized inscription on the box for me. And man this call talks mature hen like Al said it would. And I love the cedar aroma when running the call. Can't wait for the boy to call in his first bird with his first box. A big thanks to Al and Josh.

Gorgeous call and wording! Your much better than I am. Just ordered one from Al and Josh for me/ for my son when he comes of ages. He's only 2. It reads and I quote.." For Nick and Ridge Cooper"....I think you might be a better wordsman then this fella haha! Once again just plain awesome!
