Title: 10x Ultra Lite pants
Post by: PALongspur on June 08, 2017, 05:31:31 PM
Now that these have been around for a few years, can anyone give some good feedback on them?

I've been looking for something to replace my Treklite pants and these seem like the best option. Tried the Drake/Ol Tom stuff and it just doesn't hold up for me.

Thanks in advance!

Anything ultra-lite is going to wear aggressively with moderate use.  Thin fabics, and fewer stitches in the seam just can't endure the frequent crawling, kneeling and tension places on fabrics in the knee buttocks area from sitting.

I don't have any experience with the 10x gear but I do have a lot of  Mossy Oak Tibbee, older Treklite, Russell APX gear and midweight Mossy Oak cottons.  As a 35-40 day a year turkey hunter, I'm happy with 2 seasons out of lightweight outer wear and I have gotten that from Tibbee, Treklite (no longer available)and APX (no longer available).

I don't know anyone who hunts a lot wearing 10x..... there might be a reason for it.

The only thing I know about them is that they make great rain gear. I would think there quality would as good or better than some of the bigger names. I guess in my mind I would rate them around Columbia quality on some of there stuff but I don't know about the pants you are asking about sorry, but I'm sure they would be descent.

They're shinier and noisier than the Treklite. I have used them for three seasons now. I rate them as good or better than the Treklite for durability and comfort. I rate them not as good for camo, but that is my perception. The turkeys have not noticed the change in wardrobe from what I can tell. I will say that the zippers are bad to jam and the buttons are not totally secure.

These are what I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KYILGBA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_dp_T1_JIgpzbH8PFWGM

Found a pair for $20 yesterday.  Might go back and get them today if they are still there.  Might be some good early season deer hunting pants.

Mossy Oak Tibbee is what I use now since Treklite was discontinued.

I've been wearing the Tibbee stuff for the last two seasons. So far it's holding up great but it's still a little hot when it gets to the end of the season.

Don't have the pants, but I do have several sets of the overalls. They are lightweight and comfortable, but I still wear Trek lite a lot and I think Trek lite is better made.

I ripped my treklite pants and couldn't find anymore so tried the 10x... not for me.  WAY too noisy.   Went with Ol' Tom.. while I don't need all the special pockets they have and cut a bunch of stuff off of them, I do like the pants.
