You won't be disappointed. Scott makes one of the best slates I've ever played...

Talked with Scott and he seems like a great guy and callmaker. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I'm on his list for a white oak slate over slate. I was looking for a slate call that had that old slate sound that wasn't too high pitched and not too raspy and it sounds like this call will do that and much more. Can't wait to run it.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. His slate is the best I own. I have two of them and missed out on another through ebay. Not sure of your striker stash but I run a Bill Lyman Dymalux, Ipe and tulipwood. I will tell it that his call loves most strikers!

That's what I've heard I personally like david halloran strikers but I don't have many. Just like the feel of his design. Trying to aquire more in different wood.
