Title: In Loving Memory Of
Post by: Gobble! on June 02, 2017, 08:58:43 AM
I've seen a few versions of this decal out there that I didn't really like so I decided to throw together my own.

This. I don't want anyone who see's my truck parked on public land during the spring to get the wrong impression.
A. That I am a turkey hunter.
B. That I am ever successful.

Wow, that's a great looking window application, fallhnt.  Where did you get that?

As for the other decal, that is a great looking decal, as well, but I would never put that one on my truck with the wording. I would put one on my truck without the wording, but nowadays, you never know when you might come back to your truck and find your tires slashed,...or a rock through the window,...if the right (or wrong) person should happen by.  Probably would never happen, but I wouldn't chance it....

Agree, don't want anything hunting related on my truck, it just draws more attention...Lot of people this day and age don't even like or want us hunting...But those decals do look good...

Thats why i have a decal on mine because people dont want us hunting. Ill be the last one to run around scared. If someone has the balls to screw with my truck ive got insurance, a cell phone if a ride was needed, and ain't afraid to go to jail if I happen to catch them. Doesn't anyone think people or other hunters are smart enough to figure out a truck parked by woods during spring turkey hunting or someone walking out in camo means someone is hunting whether a decal is in the window or not?

I don't want to hurt anyone unless they are hurting my property I worked hard for especially for know reason whatsover Imo...Then truthfully it wouldn't matter if the person was 10ft tall and I knew I was going to get pummeled it would be gloves off. Lol.. I also respect your opinion I'm just not as good at turning the other cheek..better than I use to be though...lets hope people leave my stuff alone for me having a sticker on my back window...I did have a Gun owners for Trump sticker on the back of my trailer and got the finger for it a few times going down the road and I just smiled and waved so I'm not all that bad..( unless they messed with my property of course) Lol..

I identify myself very subtly. Only other turkey hunters, and not even all of them can identify what it means. It's a tenth legion tag on the front of my truck. When someone asks me what it means I tell them I am a member of a secret society and that I can't tell them anything about it. I have a lot of fun with it and every now and then someone will point to my tag and tell me they are a member too.

I like the 10th legion decal idea!  I just have a small NWTF sticker & an NRA life member sticker on my old beater.

Years ago I had a "Support Ducks Unlimited" license plate holder on the back of my S-10 Blazer. I was duck hunting on some public ground one day and when I got back to my rig someone had ripped the license plate holder off, put it on the ground and took a dump on it. True story! So l don't put anything on my truck that indicates my passion for hunting. Too many nut jobs out there these days.

Whether deer or turkey hunting I never want anyone to know my success. I always "sneak" them into my truck. Not because I did anything wrong. Might as well put up a sign BIG BUCKS AND HOG GOBBLERS HERE....POST IT ON THE INTERNET.

Agreed, I never advertise on any of my vehicles. In fact the public land lakes and rivers around here are used by a lot of people for different reasons and agends. I have an old jeep  Grand Cherokee that looks beat up a bit but is mechanically sound and few give it a second look when parking at trail heads or boat ramps.

I even refrain from wearing camo in public. An added bonus is that few people believe I am a hunter at all. Just don't look the type I guess. I also keep any wall mounts out of sight so as to not excite any company that might drop by. Have to admit tho it is hard to conceal the full body mount Mtn Lion climbing down my living room wall.

I do, however, think both decals look great! they just draw too much attention for my style.
