Title: Tag Soup
Post by: greencop01 on June 01, 2017, 07:55:21 PM
Could only get out three and a half gays this season. First day had a Berkshire Mt concert on day one. Five jakes must have gobbled 30 times in unison, my friend and his son doubled up and I respectfully passed. The other day and a half rained and I got blanked. Last day I went with my son-in-law had a couple gobbled, hit the ground and went the opposite way. Checked out the roost site, a back yard, his site, no scouting the land, oh well. Just makes me determined to work hard next year maybe two weeks and two states. Still better than the best days working!

Tag soup for me too this year. I hunted 2 weekends. One was high winds the other torrential rains. (At least I didn't have three and a half gays ) lol

Man. I thought my spring last year was bad. But 3 and a half gays sounds terrible!  Lol. But really, I had tag soup for the first time ever last spring. Didn't taste good but life went on. This year was better.  Best of luck next year.

Me too tag soup had a guy walkout and spook a nice long beard right as I was about to pull the trigger the bird leaped up and took off got on a couple others but things did not come together. But my season was still better than three and a half gays.

Tag soup for me too.  No big deal.  I hunted hard and much more than all that have posted so far.  Like way more.  It's not the first or second year I've gone without.  Turkey season is like that.  One year it happens too quickly and all your tags are gone.  The next you can't fill one.  Most unpredictable creature on the planet.

Sad to say, nada, zip for me as well. Have to start searching for new areas to hunt. All my honey holes of the past have dried up!!!

It's good that you are trying to get more people involved in hunting.

3 normal sized gays would be odd but I'm sure they managed getting through the woods fine.

I'd say hunting with the homsexual midget was interesting.

Tag soup for me at home.  Had a week to hunt.  Played cat and mouse with a bird all week.  Finally, on the last day I blew it and got picked off.  I had more fun than if I would have tagged out in the first 20 minutes.  Luckily, a trip to Kansas got me two birds.

Had the exact same experience, gratefull for Kansas. Big Tom came in behind me twice at home. We'll play agian in the Fall or next Spring if the Coyotes dont get him.

Tag Soup for me too. Opening day had birds roosted up a logging road off a big field. Got set up way before daylight, hens flew down and was leading 3 gobbling Toms straight to us. Hens got spooked by a guy walking across the field right in front of them and took off in woods toms in tow. Guy was trespassing and was abruptly booted off. Got out a few more times but birds would not get close enough for a clean kill shot.
