Title: strange
Post by: surehuntsalot on May 29, 2017, 01:17:55 PM
Here in Mississippi the spring squirrel season is going on, I was out hunting this weekend and Friday I saw 3 hens, watched them for on hour or so not 1 poult nowhere in sight. Saturday coming out of the woods, I came out on a power line, about 200 yds. down the power line was 3 gobblers and 6 hens, again no poults or young birds anywhere around and the gobblers where strutting in front of the hens the entire time I was watching. Sunday morning saw 5 hens all alone. Where are the young birds???

I'm in central MS and I've seen 4 hens with poults  since about 3 weeks ago. Pretty good hatch here as far as I can tell. Saw 2 strutters yesterday in different fields. We should have some late hatches just by seeing what's going on.

I really love this Mulberry squirrel season!  Mornings have really been nice!
