Title: Tube Call ?
Post by: wisconsinteacher on May 22, 2017, 10:04:27 AM
My goal is to be able to sound like a turkey by spring 2018 with a tube call.  My question is, how do I avoid the high pitched whine when I start my calling series?  My first note is a high pitched whine and from there, I am able to get yelps and clucks.

Any advice or tips to using a tube call?

lots of practice is all I can think of. They are great calls but require some skill.  Mike

I did same thing
And then I found if I make a soft cluck I can go into my soft yelps without a whine
At least that's the way I do it

Run it with way less air than you think you need. It was something I had to get used to when I first started on a tube. If you back off on air and it doesn't improve then try slightly loosening your side stretch tension.
