Glad my slump of 16 days is over!! I had to move ahead of what turned out to be 3 jakes. Took a hard 20 minutes on the trail and sure enough-- I caught up to them as they just exited the hardwoods. I saw them first and lined up on one when they did see me in the light rain at 25 yards. Just a nice 14lb jake--but I took him on public land-- so very happy with him.

Congrats on the turkey. Did you locate them with your whistle? I bought one before season but my Doberman got a hold of it before season.

I located these jakes with my sweet clucker wingbone that I made myself from a Fall killed hen. I did not get a reply from my 2 double slates though before I used the wingbone.
