Title: Jake decoy head colors
Post by: trackerbucky on May 11, 2017, 01:35:12 PM
Does anyone have a good representation of a jake head that you're happy with that they'd be willing to post?  I believe that mine is too bright and has caused a couple of sub dominant gobblers to shy away.  I'd like to tone down the white and blue and make it more gray.  I've looked at pictures of jakes on line, but there is quite a range of colors to be seen there and I'm not really sure where to go with the paint job.

Thanks in advance.

Tracker, Here's a good read concerning head color, strut position and feather position.  Your decoy may have more than head color that effects the reaction you are getting   http://bestturkeydecoy.com/body-language/
