Title: Bottomland stock and forearm on an 870
Post by: dixiemagnum80 on May 09, 2017, 07:12:07 AM
I came across an Remington 870 Special Purpose Magnum at a gun shop yesterday that has a bottomland stock and forearm on it. The rest of the gun has the standard matte blue finish. You can tell it has been hunted with a little but it's not bad.....90% or so. They want $250 for it. Is this a good find or just another run of the mill 870? Any collector value to the stock and forearm? Thanks in advance.
Chuck

Price sounds good, never seen one with just bottomland stocks.

I would say it was an aftermarket job in the stocks.  I wouldn't say it's necessarily collectible, but I'd give 250 for one in good shape. If you like it, get it. That's about the going rate these days

I would jump all over that, seems like a really good price for a special purpose Mag.  I purchased one back in the early 90's that is all in bottom land and it's been a great gun.  I will never part with it.
