The second season is open beginning May 1, thru end of month. You can buy a guaranteed license for private land, which means licenses are available anytime for purchase. There is a license for public land but they are limited in the number of licenses available. Check the Michigan DNR website for availability info.

They may have the most ridiculous permit system for turkey I've seen anywhere, any idea what hunt zone that is in the GR area?

I see a bunch of tags left but not sure what there for.

Glad you have it figured out, it is very confusing. If you want to hunt public ground Ithink you want hunt units ZA or ZF in proximity to Grand Rapids area and then you need to choose the hunt number that corresponds to the date you will be in the area. If you want private land only then choose hunt number 0234. Clear as mud!

Rogue River State Game Area is about 20 miles north of Grand Rapids. Don't overlook the Allegan SGA, it is 50,000 acres but about 40 miles south of GR. It is unit zf number 0133. Hope this helps and you have success.
