Taking my daughter, Pickle, out in the morning for the youth hunt to see if she can't make it two years in a row............
We have some good intel on a couple of local strutters. One's a jake. One's a longbeard. Pickle says she doesn't know whether she'll pass the jake (she shot a REAL nice jake last year on youth day) and wait on the longbeard or not. I sure ain't gonna tell her what to do !!!
Good luck to all who are venturing out with a youngin in the morning !!! Teach safety !! Stay safe !!!
Good luck to y'all!
Good luck, be safe, & have fun! I hope that longbeard pays a visit first and makes the decision easy.

Good luck! The anticipation and excitement is worse on us big kids the night before a youth hunt! She's got a lifetime to get selective, so I agree with you - legal bird = green light!
Let the fun begin!

That is EXACTLY my hope. Yep. Haha !!!
Good luck, get a big one...
Saturday morning broke with rain, mid-40s temperature, and windy. I hope the weather there is better than in Southern Illinois, or at least you have a pop-up. Best of luck in your turkey season!
The 5th and final season (8 days) comes in this coming Thursday and I'm hoping that many of the hens are on the nest making for boss gobblers being more vulnerable in looking for the few remaining hens that they can find. Of course, I'll be one of the seductive "hens" along with my Funky Chicken, just waiting for the peck order to kick in.
