About 3 oz more then the original. The gun is lighter then a full sized 500 which might be the shorter barrel. The adjustability is great as the gun always fits as he grows. This shotgun is used mostly for skeet but we swap out chokes and go after turkeys with it. The adjustable comb is great when he wants to add a scope or a red dot. The weld really doesn't change.

The grip is offset towards his palm which has his trigger pull more centered and his wrist straighter. The finger grooves also set the hand the same with each mount. That is the theory anyway. He enjoyed designing it and did a lot of the work himself. The stock is rather flat on purpose to allow the laser to engrave the birds without having to make adjustments for the curve to avoid distortion.
