Title: Sighting in and temperature
Post by: kdsberman on April 12, 2017, 09:57:27 AM
Hey guys.  I need to sight/pattern my new choke/shell combo.  My season starts next Monday and I've had zero time plus the weather has been crappy, except the days I work of course.

Anyway, my only windows of opportunity until then might be slightly chilly.  I know that cooler weather will negatively affect pattern numbers, but for sighting in purposes will it affect POA/POI?  I'm sighting in my red dot on my 835.   FWIW, I switched from a Jellyhead and Nitro H517 to TruGlo SSX and Hevi #7 3.5"

Thanks everyone

Patterns will be better in warmer temps but will not affect POI.

Thanks,
Clark

Thanks Clark.  Figured I'd be good but wanted to make sure.  I really hate to chance taking that setup in the woods without seeing how and where it shoots.  If all else fails I'll bowhunt them Monday morning then maybe mid day I'll take the couple shots needed for it then hunt afternoon .

Thinking of trying tomorrow.  Gonna be upper 40's temp.  In addition to the SSX I might finally try my Star Dot.
