I was thinking of getting a gobble call for a turkey hunt on a private farm. A was talking to a guy in the call aisle at farm and fleet, he was getting a h/s strut thunder twister gobble call and said it's worked better for him than anything else. Just looking for opinions on any gobbling call before I drop some coin on one. Thanks and good hunting!

I vote for Red Wolfe's gobble call too. It's probably the best shaker type gobler call pout there.
It doesn't sound bad up close but it sounds better if you record yourself from a distance
Why not just a good box call?

I use a Quaker boy for scouting and roosting during the season. Works fine for me. Around me too many "hunters" in the woods to use it for hunting IMO.
I use a tube call.
The good box call advice was right on. You can even Yelp easily on it!
Seriously it takes a pinch of practice, but you'd have one call you can Yelp with than throw in a gobble as opposed to changing calls. Gobbling can work but it can also be dangerous. Remember how dumb some people are. Some even voted for Clinton! Geez that'll give ya the willies

do they still sell the red wolf even? Mike
I bought one from midwestturkeycall supply this month. It sounds good. I don't have any other to compare it to.
I really like the Haint, but some people say they can't make it sound right. I like it because I can blow it like a duck call using the feeding chatter - it's very loud and sounds just like a gobbler from a distance.
I use an old Lynch world champion box. I saw online the other day they make one called a gobble box that may be even better.
Another Red Wolfe user. Have used mine for years.
