AWESOME! you boys are makin me jealous, that is for sure. I'm stuck here in Montana with an open season cramming my face into a book to graduate college. I'm definitely heading out this weekend!

You shot that bird in Mo? Sure looks like a Rio to me but I could be wrong. Real nice bird and shot none the less, congrats

NW MO. 100% Eastern, but one of the prettiest one I've killed. It's not all that uncommon to see an eastern with that coloration.

Yep I've have easterns that color at the farm in NE Kansas.

Same thing I was thinking, must be a regional thing??? If you had said you were SW MO I would have though of some cross with OK. We have birds that will have light tan to buff tail tips but the upper tail coverts remain chocolate brown...
